John Bord  

Tucson Electric Power  

John Bord is a proven leader in marketing, customer experience and Border community development in the US and Mexico. John is responsible for Customer Experience and Strategy for Tucson Electric Power. He is responsible for analyzing and understanding the company’s residential and commercial customers through the application of data analytics and primary research initiatives. John provides voice of the customer insights to customer-facing business units and executives to enhance the effectiveness of marketing, new product development, and energy efficiency programs.

 

 

Adalberto Elías  

National Law Center for Inter-American Free Trade  

Experienced Research Attorney with a demonstrated history of working in the international trade and development industry. Skilled in Secured Transactions Law Reform, Securities Market, Commercial Lending, E-commerce, International Relations, and Economic Development. Strong legal professional graduated from University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law.

 

 

 

Ricardo Gallego  

Gallego & Associates - International Legal Advisors 

Ricardo Gallego obtained his law degree from the University of Sonora. He earned a triple master's degree in International Law, Human Rights, and International Collaboration from the European Institute Campus Stellae of International Law in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He holds a diploma in Family Law from the University of El Valle de Mexico; a diploma in Administration and Fundraising for Non-profit organization from Indiana University at the Center of Philanthropy. G&A specializes in international and bi-cultural experiences to achieve business international growth.

 

 

Sebastián Galván Duque Covarrubias  

Consulate of Mexico - Tucson  

Sebastian is the economic affairs attaché for the Consulate of Mexico in Tucson. He has worked in diplomatic capacities since 2009. He graduated with a degree in International Affairs and Relations from ITAM, or the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de Mexico. He is especially well versed imn pubblic policy and strategic planning. He is known as a key influencer in the space of foreign economic policy.

She works primarily with a diverse client base composed of high tech start-ups, marketing strategists, business development advertising agencies, software firms, publishers, biotechnology companies, corporate trainers, and more.

Located in Nogales, AZ, Val-Ma specializes in all modes of transportation to provide freight shipping solutions. Val-Ma Enterprises provides its customers with competitive pricing and superior logistics resources. Valeria’s company serves as a liaison between individuals or companies that need shipping services and an authorized motor carrier. Val-Ma Enterprises, LLC is bonded, and licensed from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). They are reliable carriers for Domestic Transportation, Special equipment, temperature-control, flat racks, open tops, and dry vans.

 

 

Kirk Olson  

Wells Fargo  

Kirk is Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager at Wells Fargo, Responsible for soliciting, negotiating, analyzing, structuring, underwriting and managing various types of CRE and C&I loans at all levels of complexity. He manages a growing portfolio of small and medium businesses in the Southern Arizona market. Kirk ensures the overall success and growth of a portfolio by deepening relationships of existing customers and through aquisition of new customers.

 

 

Liz Pocock  

Startup Tucson  

As COO, Liz Pocock is responsible for strategic oversight and day-to-day operations for the Startup Tucson team. Liz believes in building strong programs focused around the needs of Tucson businesses and entrepreneurs to ensure that the organization grows and delivers on its mission to help Tucson strive. Previously the Supervising Research Attorney and Development Director at the National Law Center for Inter-American Free Trade, Liz has more than five years of experience in non-profit organizational management and has a record of successfully managing complex stakeholder, contract, and partner relationships in national and international contexts.

Ken is a global executive with expertise in insurance, banking, and consumer finance. He has a client focused mentality in the development and delivery of insurance and investment products. Committed to building new business relationships with agents, brokers, financial advisers, private bankers, and wealth managers. GBG is a fully integrated insurance group providing services from policy sales to claims administration and servicing, and is committed to delivering high levels of customer service.

 

 

Sonia Vohnout

Sonia is owner of a consulting firm that assists its customers with the design and management of complex systems over their life cycles. She has more than 20 years of experience in systems engineering, software systems, quality systems management, business development/commercialization, start-ups, and program management. In the past she has worked for Physical Optics Corporation, Sentient, Ridgetop Group, Modular Mining, IBM, and AT&T Bell Laboratories. She is an expert modeler and has extensive expertise in prognostics and health management (PHM) systems and software development.

 

 

Pat Watson  

Southern Arizona Council for International Visitors  

With a background in hospitality, Pat is in charge of building the international community through the International Visitors Leadership Program. It is administered by the U.S. Department of State annually brings to the United States approximately 5,000 foreign nationals from all over the world to meet and confer with their professional counterparts and to experience America firsthand. The visitors, who are selected by United States Foreign Service Officers overseas, are current or potential leaders in government, politics, the media, education, the arts, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), business and other fields.
